WASHINGTON D.C. (Jul. 11, 2024) - Andrew Moylan, vice president of public finance at Arnold Ventures, provided the following reaction to today’s introduction of the Unemployment Insurance Integrity and Accessibility Act:

Arnold Ventures welcomes the introduction of the Unemployment Insurance Integrity and Accessibility Act, a bipartisan bill to improve fraud resilience and benefit delivery in unemployment insurance. This common-sense proposal will shore up our antiquated UI systems, which were exploited for tens of billions of dollars during the pandemic.

Through our program integrity work, Arnold Ventures has made significant investments in UI research and policy development. This new legislation is a strong first step toward implementing the recommendations of fraud experts to better protect taxpayers and lawful claimants alike. We commend the bill’s sponsors, Senate Finance Committee Chair Ron Wyden and Ranking Member Mike Crapo, for their focus on enhancing unemployment insurance program integrity and look forward to Senate action on the bill this year.”
