Alyson Clements
Alyson directs the advocacy strategy for Arnold Ventures’ state and federal advocacy portfolio on criminal justice reform. In this role, Alyson works collaboratively with the research and policy teams to develop, advocate, and advance the strongest evidence-based policies possible.
Before joining Arnold Ventures, Alyson served as Co-Director for the National Juvenile Justice Network a Washington, D.C.-based nonpartisan, nonprofit organization which supports members across the country in advocating for more fair, just, and humane treatment of children who encounter the legal system. There her work included leading the Network’s campaign to close harmful private for-profit youth facilities. Alyson also previously worked in West Virginia leading economic stability and justice reform campaigns with both the West Virginia Center on Budget and Policy and the American Civil Liberties Union of West Virginia. Alyson has also served as a steering committee member for RISE for Youth in Virginia and the Justice for Terrence Sterling campaign.
Alyson holds a master’s of social work from the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor’s of social work from New Mexico State University. She lives in Washington, D.C . where she enjoys playground dates with her husband and son and all things outdoors.
