Amy leads the Medicaid & State Policy Engagement team's policy strategy and oversees the team's efforts to identify and build new grants and partnerships. She provides technical assistance to state and federal policymakers on opportunities to build on the Medicaid program to make it more efficient while maintaining coverage. She also serves as a connector, building partnerships between subject matter experts, researchers, and policymakers, all with an aim of making the health care system more affordable and work better for people when they most need it.
Amy has spent her career working to influence policy design and helping stakeholders to understand and implement policy change, especially for organizations that are dedicated for caring for people who are low-income and older adults.
Before joining Arnold Ventures, Amy was vice president at a boutique consulting firm where she advised health plans and providers on Medicare and Medicaid policy, including Medicare-Medicaid integration, health reform implications, and value-based payments. She's also worked for the Association for Community Affiliated Plans, where she provided non-profit Medicaid managed care plans with operational support and policy analysis. Prior to that, she oversaw an Indiana-based Medicaid managed care organization's efforts to join the ACA Marketplaces as they were being stood up and has experience working for a political campaign.
