Andrew Bacher-Hicks
Andrew Bacher-Hicks oversees Arnold Ventures’ philanthropic support for rigorous evaluation studies and efforts to expand government investments to programs proven to deliver positive outcomes for American families, communities, and businesses.
Before joining Arnold Ventures, Bacher-Hicks was an assistant professor at Boston University’s Wheelock College of Education and Human Development, where he focused on using quantitative research methods to study the causes and consequences of inequality in public education. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including the American Economic Review: Insights, Journal of Public Economics, Economics of Education Review, Education Finance and Policy, and Educational Researcher, and he has been featured in media outlets such as the New York Times, Washington Post, Boston Globe, Time, and FiveThirtyEight.
He received his doctorate and master’s degree from Harvard University and earned his bachelor’s in economics from The College of William and Mary.
