Dan Ryan
Dan provides strategic management for the Medicare Sustainability portfolio as part of the Health Care team at Arnold Ventures. His work focuses on the identification, development, and management of investment opportunities that aim to reduce overpayments to certain Medicare providers and Medicare Advantage plans, improve efficiency and competition throughout the program, and strengthen Medicare’s financing.
Prior to joining Arnold Ventures, Dan worked as a graduate research assistant examining non-profit hospital community benefit and charity care provision with faculty in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He was also a Graduate Institute fellow at the Hopkins Business of Health Initiative, and he provided pro bono consulting services to pharmaceutical industry start-ups. He has a decade-long background in public accounting, during which he gained extensive experience in federal and state tax policy research.
Dan holds a master of science in public health in health policy and a certificate in public health economics from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Bucknell University.
