Erica Socker

Erica leads Arnold Ventures’ efforts to improve affordability in the private insurance market, strengthen the long-term sustainability of the Medicare program, and promote greater efficiency through payment and delivery system reform. She oversees strategic investments on these issues and works closely with policymakers and stakeholders to develop and promote evidence-based solutions. Erica has played a key role in building several health care portfolios at AV since joining in 2017.
Prior to joining AV, she worked at the White House Office of Management and Budget, where she directed the Health Division’s quantitative work. In this role, she provided analysis and recommendations on proposals related to the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and developed strategic plans to expand the division’s analytical capacity. Erica also worked at the Congressional Budget Office, the Brookings Institution, and the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.
Erica holds a doctorate in political science from Texas A&M University in addition to bachelor’s degrees in economics and mathematics from the University of Maryland.
