Yolanda M. Barnes
Yolanda helps lead AV’s contraception portfolio, sourcing and managing investments to promote autonomy, access and justice.
A scholar activist, Yolanda worked for several years in higher education, where she developed research, collaborated with senior faculty, oversaw multifaceted projects, and coached students to become leaders in their communities. Her research focused on the the ways in which federal and state policies support or undermine equitable pathways toward college affordability. In addition, Yolanda serves as volunteer leader for a Texas-based reproductive justice organization.
Yolanda holds a Ph.D. from the University of Houston and a master’s and bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University.
